All borders come in solid 5/16 inch hardwood. 3/8 inch plywood has to be installed to the subfloor so that the final thickness is 3/4 inch. Some borders are stocked in the species shown in color pages of the catalog, or we can craft them in your choice of woods. Inventoried woods include: walnut, white oak, red oak, hard maple, ash, American cherry, wenge, Brazilian cherry, mahogany, santos mahogany, Ipe, teak, bubinga and purple heart. Special order woods are also available. We specialize in custom borders crafted to your design. Wood substitutions are available for US$100.00.
5/16 inch, unmounted, 20 inch to 30 inch section borders are assembled and surface-taped for easy, glue-down installation.
